My boyfriend and I had been wanting to make a trip out to Joshua Tree National Park for a while now, and we finally had the chance to take the mini road trip a couple of weeks ago. We had originally planned to go camping and were going to try and camp at one of the first-come-first-serve camp sites, but by the time we got there, they were all taken. Such a bummer, but hoping to try again next month.

En route to Joshua Tree.

Coachella Vally – from Keys View lookout.

The first trail we hiked was to Lost Horse Mine – 4 miles round trip and mostly uphill. Highly recommend if you’re trying to get a workout in.

The second trail we hiked, was to Barker Dam – a little over a mile round trip; fairly easy.

Stopped at Cafe Ma Rouge right before we headed back home – cute little spot for coffee and pastries.
Successful first trip to Joshua Tree. Can’t wait until we come back!
