Strawberry green tea with rainbow jelly from Dulce Tapioca. One of the things I miss the most from home is the boba and flavored teas – none of the places in Houston make it quite like they do back home (although Dulce is one of the few places that comes close).

Trying to eat clean earlier this week.
Last week I purchased a couple of gold-filled cartilage hoop earrings on Etsy from shopKiiNA. I had been looking for small gold hoop earrings for the longest time and was so happy when discovered her shop on Etsy! Be sure to check out her online shop!
During the week I ended up stumbling upon BHLDN, so I went inside just to look around – gorgeous wedding dresses. Definitely my style.
Probably not the best idea, but I had a loaded baked potato from Pappa’s BBQ for dinner earlier this week. Couldn’t get over how big it was, I think I was only able to eat about half of it.
On Friday night we ate at District 7 Grill in EaDo. They are only open for dinner Wednesday-Friday. I had the Chicken Penne and Spinach Salad and my boyfriend had the Seared Tuna Burger – both were delicious. Hoping they are going to be open on the weekends soon!
On Saturday we went to the Sundance Cinemas to watch Chef – highly recommend it if you are looking for a good film to watch. After the movie we wandered around downtown for a little before heading to Rice University to watch a basketball tournament.

Saturday night we had dinner at benjy’s. I had the Crunchy Chicken – the chicken, potatoes and string beans all had such good flavor. However, we were a little disappointed because the food was good, but the service wasn’t that great.

I have officially been in Houston for 1 year, today. It’s definitely been a roller coaster of a year, but I wouldn’t have had it any other way. I will say though, that it’s taken about a year for me to be happy living here. It took awhile, but Houston is starting to really grow on me.
With that said, my boyfriend and I went to Free Press Summer Fest this past weekend, and even though I was exhausted this morning – it was so worth it. It was hot as balls and humid as heck, but so much fun (minus the temporary evacuation due to the thunderstorm on Saturday).
